Was born on June, 14, 1946 in Kharkiv. In 1967 graduated from the physical faculty of Kharkov State Unviersity.
In 1978 defended candidate's thesis (PhD) "To the theory of the high-frequency phenomena in metals in normal and superconducting states", and in 1988 - doctoral thesis (DSc) "Nonlinear electrodynamic phenomena in metals".
In 1968-1969 he has been working in Donetsk’s Institute for Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (DonIPhT USSR Academy of Sciences ) as a junior researcher. Since 1969 he has been working at the IRE AN USSR (acurrent name of the Institute - Usikov Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) as post-graduate student, junior reseacher, senior researcher, leading researcher, and the head of the department of theoretical physics/
From 1993 to the present - Professor of Theoretical Physics Department named by academician I.M.Lifshits, KNU Karazin (concurrently).
Member of the Specialized Scientific Council of the Usikov Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Specialized Scientific Council at B.Verkin Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine , the member of editorial board of 'Radio Physics and Electronics" Received grants of Soros Foundation (1994-1996, 1998) and grants from INTAS (1998-2000, 2002-2004).
Laureate of the State Award of Ukraine in area of science and technique (2013).
He has published over 350 scientific papers, including 10 articles in collective monographs. Prepared 8 PhDs and 1 DSci.
Scientific direction is physics of solid.
Lecture course: Quantum mechanics.
